Sunset Villa 1

On the outskirts of Athens, located inside a sloping site, among lush, verdant surroundings, stands an unassuming, two bedroom proposal, equipped with an adjoining pool.

Inspired by the changes in colour and temperature throughout the sunset, the interior utilises the warmth of the walls, in contradiction to the coolness of the metallic surfaces, the warmth of the orange colour of the sun to the coolness of purple at dawn.

Colour and material delineate the various uses and enhance their transformation into spatial arrangements, much like a intrinsic lining oscillates from soft to hard.

Metallic surfaces and the bodies of water in the surrounding landscape, create soft light reflections that enhance the soft feeling of the setting sun.

Lighting design, apart from the obvious functional necessity, complements the overall spatial experience, pairing light form and temperature to material and colour. It also enhances or obscures the inside – outside relation.
